May 8, 2013

On May 7, 2013 Yorktown Heights Engine Company mourned the loss of US Navel Veteran, Past Chief, 70 year member, and Past Fire Police Captain Fred H Ducady Jr. (the Duke).
Chief Ducady served in the United States Navy and was a WWII (pacific theater) veteran. Prior to serving his country the Duke served his community by Joining the Yorktown Heights Engine Company. Being the first 16 year old to join the Engine Company, Fred worked on many committees and held the offices of Lieutenant and Captain; in 1958 Fred Ducady was elected to the Office of Chief. Holding the office for two years, Chief Ducady had the honor of leading the men of the Yorktown Heights Engine Company down the streets of Yorktown during the Engine Company's 50th Anniversary.
Rest in peace Duke, and take care of the "young fellars" at your new fire house.
Services will be held at Beecher Flooks Funeral Home Inc. Pleasantville, NY Friday May 10, 2013 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. Company services will be Friday at 7:30 pm. Grave side service will be Saturday May 11, 2013 @ 11am Amawalk Cemetery
