At approximately 2000hrs, Continental Village Fire Department, along with Yorktown's Water Rescue team, were dispatched to the Bear Mountain Bridge for a jumper confirmed down in the hudson. Rescue 55, along with Marine 55 and Marine 56 responded to the incident.
Units responded to the Peekskill Waterfront Boat launch, and both Marine 55 and Marine 56 were launched to assist in the search. Units along with multiple other marine units from Westchester, Putnam and Rockland county, and State Police Aviation searched the river and shore line for the victim.
Due to the hazards of the night search, the rescue was called off approximately an hour and a half later and the recovery resumed in the morning. |
