| Yorktown's Bravest would like to congratulate 4 members on graduating Firefighter 1. Avery Katz
Firefighter 1 is the basic training course for firefighters in the state of New York. The course provides members with entry-level training in the multiple aspects of firefighting. Topics include hoseline placement and advancement, ladder operations, self contained breathing apparatus, firefighter safety, fire behavior, personal protective equipment, building searches, forcible entry, ventilation, building construction, ropes/knots, rescue procedures, hazardous materials, weapons of mass destruction, confined space safety and fire prevention practices A reminder to our 4 newly certified brothers, you have completed the minimum basic training course, this should be only the begining of your fire service experiance, this builds your foundation and from here you must continue to listen learn and refine those skills you have been taught.
