2011 Leads to Most Runs in Department's History At A Total of 778 Runs

The Yorktown Heights Engine Company, consisting of an all volunteer force, closed the year out with 778 emergency runs, making it the most in the district's history. Every day, your neighbors volunteer their time to protect the lives and property of the residents, businesses, commuters and visitors of our town. Taking in an average of 2.1 emergency fire runs every day (no medical runs), the volunteers save taxpayers millions of dollars every year.

Prior to 2011, the most emergency runs ever recorded for the department was 614 in 2009. This increase in call volume means that the Yorktown Heights volunteers are being worked more then ever, which means we need more strong bodied volunteers to supplement our current force.
