Two Dumpster Fires Lead to 10-75 in the Commercial Box |

| At 0033, Yorktown Fire was dispatched to the first dumpster fire behind Underhill Plaza. Engine 273 arrived on scene with an active dumpster fire. 273's crew stretched a single line and quickly extinguished the fire. Units were clear by 0100 hours. Less then 30 minutes later, Yorktown fire was dispatched to a dumpster fire behind Turco's supermarket. Car 2533 arrived on scene and updated responding units that there was a rubbish fire, with possible extension into the charlie side of the building. The alarm was updated to a possible structure fire, bringing Ladder 51 in. Engine 273 arrived first, split its team and began to extinguish the outside fire, while the other half forced entry into the loading dock area. Crews determined that fire had extended into the walls of the building, and Car 2531 transmitted the 10-75 bringing in Croton's FASTeam, Bedford Hills Tower Ladder to the scene, Mohegan's Ladder and Somers' engine on the relocate to Station 1. An additional line was stretched into the building, and the walls were opened up to expose the fire. All units cleared by 0400 hours. |
