The Yorktown Consolidated Water District will be flushing fire hydrants in section 3 and Brookside Ave & Greenwood St. in section 7 from June 5, 2017 thru June 30, 2017 between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The Commerce St. business district will be flushed between the hours of 12:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. If you do not know what section you are in, you can look up your street by going to the following link: http://www.yorktownny.org/refuserecycling/find-my-section.

Please be advised that flushing may cause some discoloration of water. This does not represent a health hazard. However, customers are cautioned to determine if the water is clear before washing clothes (or any other processing) as staining may occur. If you experience discolored water run the cold water in all your faucets for approximately 5-10 minutes.

The Water District regrets any temporary inconvenience you may experience however, the flushing program is necessary to maintain a good water supply for both firefighting and domestic consumption. We thank you in advance for your cooperation.
