First Due MVA w/ Extrication - Multiple Patients

At 6:08hrs, Yorktown Heights Fire was dispatched with the Yorktown Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Empress Emergency Medical Services 34-Medic 1, and the Yorktown Police Department to Saw Mill River Rd for a motor vehicle accident, reported extrication and an unconscious party.

Rescue- Engine 270, and Rescue 16 from the Yorktown Heights FD handled the assignment.

Upon arrival, Rescue-Engine 270 found a 2 car MVA with 1 patient heavily entrapped. Car 2535 established command, a rapid triage was performed, and a total of 1 red tag, 2 yellow tags, and 1 green tag patients were found. A total of 4 BLS ambulances and 3 ALS units were requested to the scene. Cortlandt Regional Paramedics 35M1, Croton On Hudson Emergency Medical Services 55B2, Ossining Volunteer Ambulance Corps 74A1, and Mohegan Volunteer Fire Association Volunteer Ambulance Corps 69B2 responded to the mutual aid request.

Yorktown Heights Firefighters handled the extrication of the entrapped party and removed them to awaiting EMS units.

Yorktown Police had the Roadway shut down for an extended period of time while they performed an accident investigation.
