Earlier today, Yorktown Heights Volunteer Firefighters were on hand for a public education/fire prevention detail at Yorktown Central School District’s Brookside School.
YHFD Volunteers provided students and staff with:
-fire safety tips
-how to properly call 9-1-1 during an emergency
-EDITH (Exit Drills In The Home) fire safety
education
- interacting with a firefighter in full turnout gear and SCBA (self-contained breathing apparatus)
and lastly, a tour of Engine 272 and it’s equipment.
A great event and opportunity to get out in the community with our partners from the Yorktown Police Department, Yorktown Volunteer Ambulance Corps Inc. and Yorktown Highway Department!
