At 17:22hrs on July 11th, Yorktown Heights Fire along with a Tower Ladder from the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department and a FASTeam from the Bedford Hills Fire Department were dispatched to a possibly extinguished electrical fire on Sycamore Ln.
Cars 2532, 2533, Engines 270, 271, 272, 273, 274 and Rescue 16 with full crews of Yorktown Heights Volunteer Firefighters responded on the run.
YHFD units arrived to find a E-bike that had caught fire while charging which was partially extinguished and hastily removed from the residence by the homeowner prior to FD arrival. Luckily, no injures were reported, the home had working smoke detectors, and the residents Immediately called 911.
First due E-272, positioned and pulled a precautionary hose line while additional YHFD crews preformed primary searches, checked for any fire extension and controlled utilities. The scene was scaled back to just the YHFD apparatus as crews preformed positive pressure ventilation and checked the residence with multi-gas meters prior to allowing the residents to reoccupy the home
