On Friday December 30th, Yorktown Heights Volunteer Firefighters stood shoulder to shoulder with our fellow first responders from the Yorktown Volunteer Ambulance Corps Inc. the Yorktown Police Department, and the 34-Medics from Empress Emergency Medical Services at the Baldwin Rd and Underhill Ave overpasses above the Taconic State Parkway to pay our respects to fallen Paramedic Lisa Sillins as the procession made its way through Yorktown.

On December 16th, Paramedic Lisa Sillins had just completed her shift in Newburgh and was walking across the street to the employee parking lot when she was hit by a drunk driver, according to officials. A few short days later, Paramedic Sillins sadly succumbed to her injuries on December 21st. She was 55 years old.

Lisa worked as a Paramedic for over 20 years for numerous agencies throughout the Hudson Valley area during her career. Including Ambulnz, Transcare EMS, Ossining EMS and Empress EMS where she frequently picked up Shifts as a 34-Medic which serves The Town of Yorktown.

We extend our deepest condolences to Paramedic Lisa Sillins family, friends and fellow EMS Providers.
