Over the weekend on November 15th, the YHFD hosted the another segment from the WCFTC “Weekly Drill Series”. This course was the Bus Rescue class held behind our Commerce St Fire Station. Over a dozen Yorktown Heights Volunteer Firefighters were joined by career & volunteer members from other area fire departments. Members from all agencies completed multiple real time hands on training evolutions throughout the day. This course featured multiple realistic scenarios that our members may encounter involving school busses or other large vehicles that will require advanced and “out of the box” stabilization and extrication techniques in real world conditions. We’d like to thank the highly experienced cadre Westchester County Fire Instructors for putting this class together. Citywide Automotive Corp for generously donating and setting up the vehicles used during the class and Tool Nut for donating equipment utilized in the class.
