We’d like to thank everyone for the huge outpouring of support during our annual Yorktown Heights Engine Co. No. 1 Santa Day Candy Cane Run this past Sunday! The Yorktown Heights Engine Co. No. 1 was organized in 1909 and has been a 100% Volunteer Fire Company ever since. Santa Day is funded entirely by the Engine Company utilizing the money made during various fundraisers throughout the year such as our annual Fireman’s Parade & Carnival and boot drives
Despite snowy conditions throughout the day and two responses to motor vehicle accidents on the Taconic State Parkway. Over 40 of your Yorktown Heights Volunteer Firefighters that participated were able to get Santa around the Yorktown Heights Fire District in style to spread some holiday cheer throughout our community. Santa even got to make a quick stop at Downing Park to go sledding down the hill! We’d like to give a huge shoutout and Thank You to the Yorktown Highway Dept. & NYS DOT for clearing our local and state roadways so Santa could safely make it around Town in his fire truck sleigh!
