| At approximately 1720 hours on 6/5/26, Yorktown Fire was requested to the Rt. 129 bridge at Hunterbrook Rd. to assist Yorktown Volunteer Ambulance Corps Inc. and Empress Emergency Medical Services who were already on scene. EMS units required assistance removing a patient from below grade. The patient had been swinging from a rope attached to the bridge when it broke, dropping them onto the rocks below. Engine 272, Engine 273, Rescue 16, and Ladder 51 responded on the run. Yorktown Heights FD units arrived on scene and established a high-angle rope rescue using Ladder 51 as the high point. The patient was packaged, secured, hoisted from the area below the bridge, and turned over to EMS for transport to the hospital without incident.
