| At 12:08AM (0008hrs) on Friday, August 21st. Yorktown Heights Fire was dispatched to the Taconic State Parkway Northbound in the area of Underhill Ave for a vehicle fire.
Car 2532, Engine 272 and Engine 274 responded and arrived to find a well involved full-sized pick up truck just south of the Underhill Ave exit ramp.
Yorktown Heights Volunteer Firefighters deployed a handline to quickly extinguished bulk of the fire and later transitioned over to a foam operation due to a compromised fuel tank.
2 occupants of the vehicle were transported to Westchester Medical Center for treatment by Yorktown EMS.
YHFD units remained on scene to assist the tow company with removal of the mild-hybrid vehicle. The scene was later turned over to the New York State Police. |
