On April 22nd at 12:44hrs Yorktown units were dispatched to the area of Underhill Ave and Heights Drive for a brush fire. A minute later Engine 273 was responding followed by cars 2531 and 2533 along with Mini-Attack 8 and Tanker 14. Engine 273 arrived at the reported area with nothing evident, but notified county fire control of a large column of smoke coming from further up Underhill Ave. After further investigation Engine 273 marked on scene with a corrected location of Underhill Ave and the Taconic State Parkway South Bound Exit ramp with a large brush fire extending up towards a residence. Upon Arrival of Car 2531, Engine 273 began controlling the fire on the exit ramp and Mini-Attack 8 was instructed to head up the drive way of a nearby residence due to heavy fire making its way toward the home.
