Members of Yorktown Heights Engine Co. # 1 Junior Corp Do Their Part in the Fight against Cancer
By Fire Chief Martin McGannon
June 13, 2008
On Friday June 13, 2008 the Junior Corp joined hundreds of others in the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Yorktown. The Junior Corp used their dunk tank to raise $605.00 in just two hours. With the help of the Lions Club there was also a visit from Elmo, who made his entry on Ladder 51. When Elmo climbed to the top of the ladder and waved to the crowd, he brought smiles and cheers from both old and young.
Like many other Fire Dept. Yorktown takes pride in doing their part in the fight against cancer. If you would like to do your part, check out http://www.cancer.org . Together we can make a difference.
Here are a few pictures of the night.
