Around 6:00pm on Saturday December 6th, Yorktowns Bravest were dispatched to Wylde Green Terrace for a possible structure fire. Incoming units were soon after advised by county fire control that they were now receiving numerous calls for a fire. 2532 advised to upgrade to a full 10-75 assignment bringing in designated mutual aid. Units were on scene within minutes and found a single story private dwelling with heavy fire throughout. The crew from Engine 273 stretched both 1 3/4 and 2 1/2 inch crosslays along with the front bumper designated for an exterior propane tank next to the structure. Due to the house being in non-hydrant district, tankers from neighboring departments set up portable ponds and assisted with tanker shuttles to provide water for the scene. Units cleared around 10:30pm. Yorktown Heights Fire Department would like to thank all mutual aid departments for their assistance.
