At 08:27 hours Yorktown's volunteers were dispatched to a reported car fire on the Taconic State Parkway, northbound in the area of FDR state park. Within minutes Engine 273 and Engine 272 signed on. Approximately 2 minutes later, Car 2532 advised units that the call would be in Mohegan's Fire District, just north of Route 202/Rt35. Engine 273's crew made a rapid knock-down of the fire utilizing a 1 3/4" hand line to extinguish the blaze. Yorktown FD cleared the scene at 0856 hours.
