| On November 15th, 60-Control received a call from Rockland's Fire dispatchers that they needed multiple units to respond to the scene of a large brush fire that was encroaching several homes. Engine 273 was dispatched by 60-control and arrived on location with Croton's Tanker, Banksville's Tanker, and Briarcliff Manor's Engine.
Engine 273's crew went to work with its deck gun and forestry line attempting to contain the fire. Croton's Tanker and Banksville's tanker provided a continuous water shuttle, allowing unimpeded water application to occur. 273's crew was able to utilize minimal hose, allowing for them to become a mobile unit and cover multiple locations.
Operations were concluded for the day at dusk, and Yorktown units returned to service without incident. |
